What you stop paying for

cmx is free — but it changes what you pay your provider.

Stale-context resend. Compressed spans stop being resent on every turn.
Cache re-reads of dead history. Compressed prefixes are far smaller to re-read and rebuild.
Summarizer calls are optional. By default compression uses the same model you already run; point summarizer_model at a cheaper one to cut that cost too.

The only added cost is the occasional small summarization request — which the cache-aware scheduler only triggers when projected savings repay it.
